Our client is a well-known Hastings-based charity that enjoys a lot of support throughout the community. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and dedicated Shop Manager to take responsibility for their Hastings and St Leonards shops on a temporary basis for 3 months.
The ideal Shop Manager will have demonstrable management experience with in retail, possess excellent communication skills as well as the ability to manage and work with a large team. As a Shop Manager you manage the day to day function of the shops, carry out the shop administration tasks efficiently as well as ensuring all health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
Due to the nature of the role you will be required to hold a full driving licence as well as your own transport.

Your duties as a Shop Manager will include:
Responsible for the day to day operation of the shops in allocated area, under the guidance of, and working in partnership with the Area Shop and Retail Events Manager, Retail Manager and Retail TeamMeeting and exceed sales targets and achieve agreed standardsRegularly updating the Area Shop and Retail Events Manager on the shops progress and propose action for improvements to generate extra business and incomeInitiating agreed sales promotions and other initiatives to increase turnoverProviding line management support to the shop volunteers and maximise their full potentialLeading and developing the shop volunteers, encouraging effective communication, regular team meetings, setting objectives and help foster a positive team spiritEnsuring a high standard of customer service is provided at all timesMaintaining a high standard of merchandising and displaysControlling stock density and stock rotationCompleting daily banking procedures in accordance with company’s Finance policiesCompleting within set time scales all administrative tasks requiredEnsuring correct compliance with Gift Aid systems and the safe storage of dataMaintaining high standards of housekeepingActing as main key holder and delegate key holding to volunteers within procedural guidelinesApplying Health and Safety regulations and the safe keeping of records, as well as to ensure Fire Equipment is correctly sited and free from obstruction
£8.77 per hour
37.5 hours per weekMonday – Sunday2 days off per week – 5 day week including Sunday and Bank Holidays on a rota basis
