Our client is looking for a Registered Manager for their Therapeutic service in Colchester.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsibilities and Professional Duties
Registered Person
1. To hold registration under the Care Standards Act 2000, maintaining registration standards and adhering to the Act’s regulations and Wings Education Ltd policies and procedures.
2. To plan and contribute towards the budget setting process for the home and ensure effective financial monitoring.
3. Providing on duty / on call support in accordance with rotas and requirements set by the Head Teacher.
4. To adhere at all times to the GSCC Codes of Practice.
Leadership
6. Ensuring effective leadership of the residential therapeutic community, such that it is organised, managed and staffed in a manner that delivers the best possible child care.
7. To support the implementation of the organisations strategic and business plan, ensuring best practice.
8. To develop the service ensuring effective administration and communication, promoting confidentiality and to contributing organisational development.
9. Chair Care Management and Full Care Staff Meetings.
Staff
10. Ensuring care staff are appropriately supervised, trained and appraised, encouraging continued professional development of all employees.
11. Participating in the recruitment and selection of members of the care team, including hosting Care Worker visits, and attending and contributing to interviews.
Child Welfare
12. Ensuring a high standard of care and support is available to each child at all times and that there are sufficient staff on rota at all times. Also to ensure that all care practices in place meet the requirements of current legislation and the expectations of the inspecting regulatory bodies.
13. To ensure a full needs assessment is completed prior to a young person being offered a placement.
14. Participating in the safeguarding of all the children and ensuring that Donyland Lodge Child Protection Policy is adhered to. Deputising in the absence of the Services Director as designated person for Child Protection.
15. Ensuring all the medical needs of the children are catered for and routine appointments are maintained.
16. Ensuring that all current legislation is followed in relation to the handling, recording, safekeeping, administering and disposal of medicines.
17. To promote positive interaction between the young people and the local community.
18. Collaborating with the Leadership Team and Team Teach Instructors in implementing, monitoring and reviewing all aspects of Donyland Lodge’s Behaviour Management Policy.
Documentation
19. Participating in the development of whole school policies.
20. Contributing to, and reviewing and updating, the School’s Statement of Purpose and other School policies and documentation appropriate to residential life.
21. Devising, evaluating and reviewing School documentation appropriate to the role in collaboration with the Leadership Team.
22. Devising, evaluating and reviewing of publications, including Staff Handbooks and Guides, and the Children’s Guide.
23. Monitor and maintain all Donyland Lodge Paperwork systems and practices, ensuring legislation and policy requirements are up held.
24. Holding responsibility to complete necessary documentation for OFSTED re: Residential Living.
General
25. Promoting and ensuring the general health, safety and welfare of the staff and children and ensuring adherence to Donyland Lodge Health and Safety Policy, and holding responsibility for Donyland Lodge Risk Assessment programme.
26. Maintaining appropriate liaison with parents / guardians and outside agencies.
27. Attend meetings of staff and pupils under the direction of the Line Manager.
28. Undertaking other such duties of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the Line Manager.
Training and Development
29. Participating in arrangements for your own induction, supervision, training and development and supervision/training and development of others.
30. Undertaking qualifications deemed necessary by the Head Teacher to fulfil the requirements of the post.
31. Reviewing your own methods of care and support.
Appraisal
32. Participating in your own Appraisal arrangements and contributing to staffs.
