Strategic Procurement Manager required for specialist interior and exterior fit out company based in Sussex. £30 - £40k plus package
Our client is a national specialist contractor who undertake interior and exterior fit out projects across a number of sectors including Healthcare, Education, Residential and Commercial projects.
Due to continued expansion they are looking to recruit a Procurement Manager with experience in the sub contracting industry, particularly Drywall and/ or facades.
The purpose of this role is to
• Explain, execute, and finalise purchasing and procurement strategies for spending across the organisation. This includes acquiring recourses within budget and facilitating communication between our client and its providers in order to deliver products and services according to plan.
• Define the objectives of products and services in order to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles.
• Develop and manage a strategic supply chain in order to deliver best value to the business.
Key Functions
• Create and manage a strategic/operational procurement process that serves all business units
• Set up and manage all major procurement agreements from tender stage through to delivery and commercial reconciliation.
• Assess target enquires to add best value through SMART procurement
• Manage the supply chain in a way that promotes best value
• Drive the adoption of lean practices within the procurement team, and work with internal customers on their lean initiatives
• Evaluates overall revisions, price and past performance of each contract and approves price increases;
• Establishes priorities, assigns workloads and reviews the more difficult and complex assignments
• Support the Work Winning Team in a way that adds commercial value and competitive advantage to key bids through engagement with the existing and emergent supply chain
• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
• Overall accountability for the timely delivery of materials to site and compliance with optimal payment terms with Finance dept
• Lead the procurement group in all training, Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3’s in the business unit
• Identify and develop training opportunities
• Track purchasing activity and measurements
• Discuss defective or unacceptable new goods or services with users, vendors and others to determine cause of problem and take corrective and preventative action
• Ensure supplier compliance with site and Company requirements for safety.
Candidate Requirements:
• Knowledge in commodity markets and price trends
• Perform a broad range of supervisory responsibilities over team
• Relevant contract and procurement experience
• Experience in leading or managing a team in a fast paced environment
• Good communication skills
• Fanatical attention to detail
